Paul made the move from electric to fingerstyle acoustic guitar at the age of 17 when he discovered folk music, being heavily influenced by the playing of Martin Simpson, Nic Jones and Martin Carthy. As he became more deeply immersed in the world of folk he became a bit distracted from the guitar, learning fiddle and melodeon, as well as mucking around with any other traditional instruments he could get his hands on. For the last few years Paul has been busking for a living and playing melodeon and fiddle in a variety of bands, but having joined Midnight Special he's looking forward to getting back down to some proper guitar playing.
